Workstation 2D and 3D Seismic Interpretation

After processing the data, it is loaded on the workstation and the process of interpretation begins. This starts wth picking all faults and then progresses through picking the important reflection interfaces. From these results maps of prospect locations for drilling are made.

These are automatically extended into the entire volume, edited, and then gridded and contoured for plotting. Extensive use of color in the displays aids in seeing the features of geologic interest.

Other maps are made, as needed from this interpretation; amplitude maps for revealing pore volume fill; subcrop or "timeslices"are made to see in map view the structural picture; and isochron maps, where useful, for revealing subtle buildups in the subsurface which often are reservoir rocks.
